Responsibilities:
Performs maintenance and troubleshoots plant electrical equipment and systems
Demonstrates the proper care and use of electrical and electronic test equipment
Performs administrative functions in support of work unit such as timekeeping, materials support, cost monitoring, and scheduling and quality control/quality assurance
Uses plant computer systems to monitor work backlog and input work order data
Performs data collection and maintain proper logs
Performs emergency response activities as required
Qualifications:
Must have basic computer skills
Must have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and control systems
Six or more years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to interpret and apply instructions, specifications, blueprints, and procedures
Possess a valid driver's license
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines

Under the direction of the Service Branch Manager, the Service Representative - Healthcare provides preventative maintenance and repair services at customer establishments throughout the assigned territory by following manufacturer’s instructions and utilizing knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment. This position provides technical expertise and leadership during the installation of the Company’s products ensuring optimal performance and synergy with other equipment when necessary. The Service Representative is also responsible for the start-up and troubleshooting of equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and customer’s requirements, in order to insure high quality and performance. The Service Representative will also be relied upon to provide instruction to our customer’s staff in the operation and proper use of our equipment. During the installation of equipment the Service Representative is responsible for controlling and reducing installation time in order to lower costs and improve profitability. 1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance required on company product lines. This includes: disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and certifying equipment ready for use by using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (i.e., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, etc.).
2. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.
3. Service customers by providing PMA performance, service calls, warranty calls, field upgrade programs, etc.
4. Perform administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required paperwork completion.
5. Maintain a working relationship with the Service Manager to advise of activity/changes related to sales opportunities in assigned territory.
6. Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers, support functions and the sales organization. Communicate activities to customers related to scheduling Preventative Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work. Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded. Actively seek continuing education opportunities.

Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
Manages assigned work to meet professional execution, of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.
Adheres to all customer safety standards. Provides safety awareness on work sites.
May provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
Mentors and trains mechanical workforce on building automation systems. Provides support to the mechanical staff on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists.
Conducts extensive self study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.

Qualifications
Vocational School four year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience or five years experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry. Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
